Immune checkpoint inhibitors (anti PD‐1 or anti PD‐L1) plus platinum‐etoposide versus platinum‐etoposide alone for first‐line treatment of extensive small cell lung cancer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objectives This is a protocol for Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitors (anti PD‐1 or anti PD‐L1) plus platinum‐etoposide compared with alone first‐line treatment extensive‐stage small cell lung cancer (ES‐SCLC).

Immune checkpoint inhibitors for advanced non-small cell lung cancer: emerging sequencing for new treatment targets

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the world. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) stimulate cytotoxic lymphocyte activity against tumour cells. These agents are available for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of platinum-based therapy. One recent study has demonstrated that ICI monotherapy was superior to platinum-based chemotherapy for f...

Immune checkpoint inhibitors: the new frontier in non-small-cell lung cancer treatment

Lung cancer is the major cause for cancer-related death in the US. Although advances in chemotherapy and targeted therapy have improved the outcome of metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer, its prognosis remains dismal. A deeper understanding of the complex interaction between the immune system and tumor microenvironment has identified immune checkpoint inhibitors as new avenue of immunotherapy...

Triage of Limited Versus Extensive Disease on 18F-FDG PET/CT Scan in Small Cell lung Cancer

Objective(s): Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive neuroendocrine carcinoma, which accounts for 10-15% of pulmonary cancers and exhibits early metastatic spread. This study aimed to determine the added value of 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging in tumor, node, and metastasis (TNM) staging of SCLC, compared to the conventional computed tomography (CT) scan and its potential role as a prognosticat...

Immune checkpoint modulation for non-small cell lung cancer.

Therapies targeting immune checkpoints have recently shown encouraging activity in patients with heavily pretreated advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), independently of NSCLC histology or mutational status, with low toxicity profiles when used as monotherapy. Objective response rates of approximately 20% have been reported in patients with advanced NSCLC treated with antagonist antibod...

Mechanisms of immune evasion and current status of checkpoint inhibitors in non‐small cell lung cancer

In the past several years, immunotherapy has emerged as a viable treatment option for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without actionable driver mutations that have progressed on standard chemotherapy. We are also beginning to understand the methods of immune evasion employed by NSCLC which likely contribute to the 20% response rate to immunotherapy. It is also yet uncl...
